They are brown in color and filled with oil during the manufacturing process. India Abrasive Files are available in coarse, medium and fine grits. Coarse (C) 100 Grit Medium (M) 240 Grit Fine (F) 320 Grit India Square Files are ideal for a variety of applications including lapping/honing to close tolerances to produce the finest edge on precision parts, die work and delicate tools. You can quickly produce a strong, keen, long-lasting edge and uniform finish while maintaining the shape of the file. Use the coarse grit for restoring edges, the medium grit for producing average edges and the fine grit for achieving even sharper cutting edges. Choose the shape and size that will give you the snuggest fit to the surface being honed. Available in a variety of sizes ranging from 1/4" x 4" to 1" x 6". Although oil-filled, we recommend using an oil such as our Stoning Oil or Polishing Lubricant and Diamond Thinner for best results as the use of oil increases the sharpening action and minimizes the clogging of the stones' surface.
