General Purpose Finishing Stone · Soft Silicon Carbide · Blue-Grey Color The Falcon Tool “PO” finishing stone is a soft silicon carbide stone with porous structure resulting in a fast, even breakdown and fine, velvet finish. The “PO” is mostly used for hand polishing and is designed to conform easily to detail areas. We do not recommend using the "PO" in reciprocating profilers. “PO” finishing stones are ideal for roughing out non-ferrous materials including aluminum, kirksite, copper and beryllium and can also be used on all tool steels. Can be used with or without a lubricant. Try our Stoning Oil or Polishing Lubricant and Diamond Thinner!

Silicon carbide finishing stones vary from aluminum oxide finishing stones in that the particle shape of the grain is thinner and sharper than aluminum oxide particles. Silicon carbide particles shave a narrow cut in the material being polished and produce a less brilliant finish because the narrow cut does not reflect as much light. Silicon carbide tends to shape easily to contours and is typically fast cutting and breaks down quickly.
