Diamond Files by Application
What Diamond File Should I Use for My Application?
Diamond files are especially valuable tools in that they can cut in all directions due to the distribution of the diamond particles. Because of this, diamond files also lead to a better finish than traditional files. With multiple diamond files designed specifically for certain uses and materials, there’s a diamond file perfect for your application.
For accurate applications in the mold & die industry: Contact Files, available in multiple lengths and thicknesses, are a commonly used diamond file in the mold & die industry, particularly for electric, electronic and automotive applications.
For filing inside slots and grooves: DHM Files and DH Files are tapered diamond files that get to areas parallel files can’t. DHM Files have a 3 mm shank and can be used by hand or in a reciprocating filing machine, while DH Files have flat handles and are used by hand.
For complicated areas: Diamond Needle Files and Diamond Needle Taper Files are popular tools that are a must have for any tool and die shop. They can easily get into complex and difficult areas, including details, ribs and slots on a wide variety of metals and hard materials.
For hard-to-reach areas: When working with hard-to-reach ribs and slots, Diamond Tip Lapper Files, which are specifically designed to be used in high-speed, short-stroke profilers are the best option.
For use with profilers: Diamond Tip Lapper Files are best when using a high-speed, short-stroke profiler and needing to reach ribs and slots. Diamond Machine Files for air profilers, which have a 3 mm round shank, are specifically designed to be used with air profilers for quick and accurate filing and material removal.
For intricate shapes: Diamond Escapement Files are smaller than needle files and are used for extremely precise work. With multiple shapes and sizes, Escapement Files can be used on small sections and materials. Spire Diamond Files offer durability and flexibility and are also an option for narrow and small spaces or details.
For narrow areas requiring flexibility: Flexi Files (plastic) or Super Flex Files (metal) are available in different grits and sizes and are strong despite being extremely thin, allowing them to flex as you file.
